Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi & Flight to Samburu National Reserve

Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met by a Camptrek Safaris representative for a safari briefing and coordination of your onward journey.

Transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu National Reserve.

Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide and begin your journey with a game drive en route to the camp.

Arrive at the lodge for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve, exploring the riverine ecosystem along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Full Day Game Drives in Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast at the camp, depart for a full day of game drives exploring the vast landscapes of Samburu National Reserve.

Spend the morning tracking wildlife along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of the reserve, where elephants, lions, leopards, and crocodiles are commonly found.

You will also search for the famous Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx — species unique to northern Kenya.

Break for lunch at the lodge or picnic site depending on game movement.

In the afternoon, continue with another game drive through different sections of the reserve, exploring open savannahs, riverbanks, and acacia woodlands.

Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Samburu to Laikipia Plateau (Transfer & Afternoon Game Drive)

After an early breakfast, depart Samburu National Reserve and begin your scenic journey towards the Laikipia Plateau.

Enjoy views of Kenya’s northern wilderness, rural landscapes, and changing ecosystems as you travel south into one of the country’s most important conservation regions.

Arrive at your lodge in Laikipia in time for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Laikipia Plateau. This region is known for its private conservancies, low tourist numbers, and excellent wildlife conservation success stories.

Look out for endangered species such as Grevy’s zebra, African wild dogs, reticulated giraffe, and elephants roaming freely across open plains and rolling hills.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Full Day Safari Experience in Laikipia Plateau

After breakfast at the lodge, depart for a full day exploring the vast and diverse landscapes of the Laikipia Plateau.

Spend the morning on game drives across private conservancies, known for their successful conservation programs and high wildlife density in low-tourism areas.

Search for rare and endangered species including Grevy’s zebra, African wild dogs, reticulated giraffe, and black and white rhinos. Laikipia is also home to elephants, lions, leopards, and large herds of plains game.

Enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the conservancy, with opportunities to stop for photography, wildlife observation, and learning about conservation efforts from your guide.

Return to the lodge for lunch or enjoy a picnic-style meal depending on the day’s schedule.

In the afternoon, continue with another game drive as the golden light sets over the Laikipia highlands, offering excellent wildlife viewing and photography moments.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

Departure from Laikipia to Nairobi

After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a relaxed morning as you take in your final views of the Laikipia Plateau.

Later, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Enjoy scenic aerial views of Kenya’s northern landscapes as you descend towards the capital.

Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be met by a Camptrek Safaris representative and assisted with your onward transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international departure.

This marks the end of your safari, carrying unforgettable memories of Samburu’s unique wildlife and Laikipia’s remarkable conservation landscapes.
