Arrival – Welcome to Kenya

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Camptrek Safaris representative and transferred to your luxury hotel in Nairobi.

• Afternoon Arrival:
  Transfer to your hotel, check in, and unwind after your journey.
• Late Night Arrival:
  Seamless transfer to your hotel for rest and overnight stay.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy dinner at the hotel or rest and prepare for the expedition ahead. A short safari briefing will be provided either this evening or the following morning.

Morning – Optional Nairobi Wildlife Experience

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed start with optional experiences depending on your preference. You may visit the Giraffe Centre for an up-close encounter with Rothschild giraffes or proceed to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued elephants and learn about conservation efforts.

For guests seeking a wildlife experience, an optional short safari drive in Nairobi National Park can be arranged.

Afternoon – Cultural & Leisure Experience

Enjoy a curated lunch experience at one of Nairobi’s renowned restaurants or relax at your hotel.

Optional activities include visits to local markets, cultural centres, or a light city exploration.

Evening – Relaxation & Preparation

Return to your hotel for relaxation and dinner, preparing for your northern Kenya expedition starting the following day.

Morning – Departure from Nairobi & Scenic Drive North

Depart Nairobi early and journey north through Kenya’s highlands, passing through Nanyuki with a brief stop at the Equator crossing point. Continue through Isiolo as the landscape transitions into the semi-arid beauty of northern Kenya.

Optional stops along the way may include scenic viewpoints or light refreshment breaks.

Afternoon – Arrival & Game Drive in Samburu

Arrive in the Samburu region in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

Explore this unique ecosystem known for rare northern species including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, alongside elephants, lions, and leopards.

This region offers excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and unique northern species such as the gerenuk and Beisa oryx.

Afternoon – Cultural Experience & Leisure

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation during the heat of the day.

Arrive in Loiyangalani and check in to your camp.

Enjoy time to relax after the journey and take in the unique setting of Lake Turkana, known as the “Jade Sea.”

Evening – Arrival in Nairobi
