Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi (JKIA) to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, you will be met by our Camptrek Safaris representative and introduced to your driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy either by road or optional flight via Nanyuki Airstrip.

By road, the journey is approximately 220–230 km (about 4.5–5.5 hours) through Kenya’s central highlands. Alternatively, you may fly to Nanyuki (about 45–60 minutes) followed by a short 30–45 minute drive to the conservancy.

On arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for your first game drive inside Ol Pejeta, where you may see elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalo, and giraffes.

Later in the evening, you return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation as you prepare for the next day’s safari activities.

Day 2

Full Day Safari Experience in Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast at your lodge, you will spend a full day exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s leading wildlife conservation areas.

The day begins with a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. You will have opportunities to spot elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and both black and white rhinos in their natural habitat.

You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, home to rescued chimpanzees, offering a unique conservation experience found only in this region.

A picnic lunch may be served inside the conservancy or at your lodge depending on your schedule. After a short rest, you will head out again for an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the park and enjoying more wildlife sightings and scenic landscapes.

As the sun sets, you return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation, with time to enjoy the peaceful bush atmosphere.

Day 3

Full Day Safari Experience in Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast at the lodge, you will enjoy a full day inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy, with flexible game viewing and relaxed exploration of the reserve.

Today allows more time to explore different sections of the conservancy, increasing your chances of spotting wildlife such as lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, and cheetahs. You may also revisit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and other key conservation areas for a deeper experience.

A picnic lunch will be served inside the conservancy or you may return to the lodge for a hot lunch depending on the day’s schedule.

The afternoon continues with optional game drives or relaxation at the lodge as you enjoy the calm atmosphere of the wilderness.

In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Transfer from Ol Pejeta to Kaboso (Masai Mara Region)

After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out from Ol Pejeta Conservancy and begin your journey to Kaboso in the Masai Mara region, enjoying a scenic transition from central highlands to the savannah plains.

You have two transfer options:

Option 1: Road Transfer

  • Distance: approx. 330–380 km
  • Travel time: 6.5 – 8.5 hours
  • Route passes through Nairobi and the Great Rift Valley
  • Scenic stops may be made along the way for photography and refreshments

Option 2: Air Transfer

  • Drive from Ol Pejeta to Nanyuki Airstrip (30–40 mins)
  • Flight: Nanyuki → Masai Mara Airstrip
  • Flight time: approx. 1.5 – 2 hours
  • Short transfer of 30–60 minutes to your lodge/camp in Kaboso

Upon arrival in Kaboso, you will check in at your camp/lodge and relax. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy an optional short evening game drive in the Masai Mara ecosystem.

Day 5

Full Day Game Drive in Kaboso (Masai Mara Region)

After breakfast at the camp, you will depart for a full day exploring the Masai Mara ecosystem around Kaboso, one of Africa’s richest wildlife regions.

Today is dedicated to extensive game drives across the open savannah in search of the Big Five and the Great Migration (seasonal). You will explore different sections of the reserve, including riverine areas where predators are commonly sighted.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by wildlife and vast savannah views, or return to the camp depending on preference and routing.

In the afternoon, continue with game viewing as you track wildlife movement across the plains. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and large herds of antelopes.

Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation around the bonfire.

Day 6

Masai Mara Experience (Kaboso) & Optional Balloon Safari

After an early breakfast, you will proceed for another exciting day in the Masai Mara ecosystem around Kaboso, with flexible game drives depending on wildlife movement and client preference.

Optional Early Morning Activity

For those interested, you may enjoy a hot air balloon safari experience at sunrise, offering panoramic aerial views of the Mara plains followed by a champagne-style bush breakfast (extra cost).

Main Day Activities

If not doing the balloon ride, you will join a morning game drive exploring different wildlife zones in search of the Big Five and other species such as giraffes, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, and elephants.

You will later enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve or return to the camp for lunch.

In the afternoon, continue with relaxed game viewing or visit scenic viewpoints along the Mara landscape before returning to the camp.

In the evening, unwind at the camp with dinner and relaxation under the African sky.

Full Day Safari Experience in Kaboso (Masai Mara)

After breakfast at the camp, you will enjoy a full day exploring the Masai Mara ecosystem around Kaboso, with flexible game drives depending on wildlife movement.

Today focuses on deeper exploration of the reserve, moving through different sections of the Mara in search of the Big Five and other wildlife including cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and large herbivore herds. The river areas may also offer opportunities to spot crocodiles and hippos.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve or return to the camp depending on the day’s schedule and game drive flow.

In the afternoon, continue with relaxed game viewing and photography before heading back to camp in the evening.

Dinner and overnight stay at the camp, with time to relax and enjoy the bush atmosphere.

Day 8

Maasai Mara to Kihihi (Uganda) Via Entebbe National Airport – Cross Border Transfer

After enjoying breakfast at the lodge in Maasai Mara, you will be transferred to the nearby Mara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Kihihi in Uganda, Via Kisumu.

Transfer by Air: You will take a morning flight from the Maasai Mara airstrip to Kihihi Airport in Uganda via Entebbe Airport, followed by a regional flight or a private transfer to the Kihihi area. Upon your arrival, you will be transported by vehicle to your lodge, where you can relax in the afternoon in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 9

Day 9 – Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla trekking Experience

"A Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounter with the Mountain Gorillas"

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for — your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the Buhoma Entrance Gate to meet your expert local guide and start the trek into the dense rainforest. The experience of tracking mountain gorillas through the thick vegetation is both exhilarating and humbling.

Bwindi is home to roughly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, and the park’s lush vegetation provides a perfect habitat for these critically endangered creatures. As you hike through the forest, you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of birds and other wildlife, making for an immersive jungle experience.

Once you find the gorilla family, you’ll spend a magical hour observing these incredible creatures as they go about their daily activities. You may witness a silverback keeping watch over the family, young gorillas playing in the trees, or a mother grooming her baby. This is a unique and intimate experience that few people on Earth will ever have the privilege of witnessing.

After your trek, you’ll return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch and the chance to relax and reflect on the incredible encounter. The rest of the day is free for you to unwind and take in the tranquillity of the rainforest. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and reflect on the day’s unforgettable memories.

Day 10

Bwindi Gorilla to Entebbe Departure / End of Safari

After breakfast at your lodge or camp in Bwindi, you will check out and drive to to the nearby Kihihi aistrip for your sheduled flight to Entebbe to connect your outbound flight back home marking the end of your safari experience in uganda.

Morning

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with time to pack and check out. Depending on your flight or travel plan, your driver-guide will assist with your transfer.

Transfers

  • By Road:
    Transfer to the nearest Kihihi airport for your onward journey to Entebbe airport.
  • By Air
