Tour
This safari focuses on the peak wildebeest calving season in the Ndutu area of Tanzania, typically between January and March each year.
This is when the massive herds congregate on the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti and the Ndutu area to give birth.
It is the absolute busiest time, with thousands of wildebeest born daily.
The abundance of vulnerable young attracts a high concentration of predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, making for dramatic wildlife viewing.

Your Route
Your Itinerary
For guests arriving from long-haul international flights, we strongly recommend arriving in Nairobi one day before the safari begins.
This optional first Day allows you to rest, recover from jet lag, and acclimatize before heading out on safari, ensuring you start your journey refreshed rather than fatigued.
On request, Camptrek Safaris can arrange airport meet-and-greet services, transfer services, and an overnight stay at The Boma Hotel, Nairobi, a trusted, comfortable hotel conveniently located 20 mins from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
This pre-safari night helps reduce travel stress and sets the tone for a smooth, well-paced safari experience.
Day 00 is optional and can be added to any itinerary upon request.
Accommodation
Spend the night at The Boma Nairobi, a Luxury hotel in Nairobi (City, Kenya) that is only about 20 Minutes from the Airport
Your Stay will be on Bed and Breakfast Basis

Our company representative will pick you up from the airport or your accommodation facility.
After a short briefing about the safari, you will be handed over to your experienced driver-guide in the morning for a scenic drive southeast towards Amboseli National Park, arriving in good time for lunch.
You'll embark on your first afternoon game drive exploring this acacia woodland, freshwater swamps, scrub brush, and open plains in search of wildlife, returning at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.
Amboseli National Park (392 sq km) is famous for the breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain on earth and the tallest in Africa (5,895m).
Amboseli is also an elephant’s paradise where the massive African savannah elephants roam from swamp to swamp, grazing all day.
Because of the abundance of water and pasture, other animals to be spotted here are cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gnus, gazelles, hippos, and many others.
Accommodation
Spend the night at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge Luxury lodge located inside Amboseli NP (Kenya)

You'll leave the camp after breakfast, carrying your packed lunch to be enjoyed in the wild.
You'll spend the whole day exploring the marshlands and swamps of Amboseli, which are fed by subterranean water channels.
Water is abundant throughout the year, and so is the pasture. Elephants and various other herbivores are found here.
You'll return to the lodge late in the afternoon after a long exploration of this 392 sq km park.
You'll also have the option of starting the day with an early morning game drive to search for animals when they're at their most active.
Then, return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast and lunch (depending on the location of your lodge).
You'll spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in the camp, reading your favorite book or just listening to music while observing the birds.
Afterward, you'll head off in the afternoon at 4:00 pm for another drive through the park. You'll return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.
Accommodation
Spend the night at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge Luxury lodge located inside Amboseli NP (Kenya)

Today, after breakfast, prepare for a long but very scenic and exciting drive. You will head towards the border separating Kenya and Tanzania (Namanga border post).
Prepare to pay for your visa, which costs $50- $100 depending on your nationality (visa cards are NOT accepted).
After clearing the border immigration process, you will transfer vehicles and join your Tanzanian driver-guide, who will welcome you and proceed further with your journey, stopping for lunch in Arusha.
After lunch, you'll take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the day-to-day activities of the locals around this small but busy tourist transit town before proceeding further east, arriving in Lake Manyara in mid-afternoon.
You have a free afternoon to enjoy the lodge facilities like swimming and bird watching, or maybe relax by the poolside, reading your favorite book, or writing your journal in preparation for a busy day tomorrow.
Accommodation
Spend the night at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge Luxury lodge located inside Lake Manyara NP (Tanzania)

After a leisurely breakfast today, you'll pack your bags and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive.
During this time, you'll seek out active wildlife such as baboons and dik-diks, which forage for food beneath acacia trees.
You may also encounter large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra grazing on the sun-drenched plains. In the acacia woodland, keep an eye out for the region's famous tree-climbing lions.
For lunch, enjoy a fresh African buffet prepared from local farm produce at a nearby homestead.
Following lunch, you'll visit a local village where you can either ride on a tuk-tuk or walk through rice fields, observing the local community along the way.
You will also have the chance to sample a local banana beer during your village walk.
After your village experience, you'll make your way to Ngorongoro Crater, ascending the outer wall through dense vegetation.
You’ll arrive at your hotel on the rim of the caldera in time for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation
Spend the night at Ngorongoro Lion's Paw Camp a Luxury tented camp located on the crater rim of Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania)

This morning, you'll descend into the crater, arriving ahead of most visitors — thanks to the ideal location of your accommodations on the crater’s rim. You'll descend onto the crater floor for the half-day crater tour.
There are only 2 roads that connect the crater rim with the crater floor, one for driving down and one for driving up.
The crater is roughly 20 km (12 mi) wide and 600 m (2,000 ft) deep. Once you’ve reached the top of the caldera, it takes about 45 minutes to descend to the crater floor.
The floor is home to a rich and highly concentrated wildlife. Some 20,000 mammals of size live there, including about 20 black rhinos, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see rhinos.
The animals here are less wary of humans and vehicles, and as a result, it's easier to watch them from up close where animals roam the lakes, rivers, and hills. Later, you'll ascend and return to your lodge at the rim for dinner and an overnight stay.

This morning, after breakfast, you will drive to the expansive and wildlife-rich Serengeti National Park, navigating through its stunning combination of savanna grasslands and volcanic hills.
Along the way, you'll stop for a privately guided tour of Olduvai Gorge, a significant site for prehuman hominid fossils.
Renowned palaeontologists, Mary and Louis Leakey, made many important discoveries here, including the remains of the "Nutcracker Man", who lived approximately 1.75 million years ago.
During your visit, you will explore the on-site museum, enjoy the views from the lookout point, and observe the excavations that revealed 3.7-million-year-old footprints and the 1.8-million-year-old skull of a human ancestor.
Following this fascinating visit, you will continue your journey to Ndutu National Park, where you'll enjoy a game drive, offering the chance to spot millions of wildebeest calving during this spectacular season.

Reviews From Our Clients
EXCELLENT Based on 87 reviews Posted on Scott SaffleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend. My wife and I had an unforgettable experience by booking our safari with Camptrek Safaris. The booking process went smooth and with Camptrek Safaris knowledgeable and experienced staff that helped us create the perfect safari experience for the two of us thoughtout Kenya. Our entire experience from booking, to being picked up at the airport and dropped off at the airport was seamless. Camptrek Safaris was very responsive and extremely knowledgeable. Our guide during our Safari, Ben, was clearly one of the best in the business. He was passionate, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly knew how to find the best spots in the parks to see the animals as close as possible. We highly recommend requesting Ben as your guide during your booking process.Posted on Julianne LilholtTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience booking a 12 day safari in Kenya and Tanzania with Camptrek Safaris. We went to Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, Masai Mara National Reserve, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, and Tarangire National Park. From the start, Margaret was extremely helpful and accommodating in assisting planning and booking the safari beforehand. I had many questions and added or changed a few things in the itinerary, and she answered promptly in detail and easily changed the itinerary when asked. She was friendly the whole time and never made me feel like I was bothering her with questions. She also helped me book a flight for the end of the safari because the airline's website wasn't working for me. I highly recommend working with Margaret to plan your trip! Once I arrived in Nairobi, Margaret was there waiting for me at the airport with a clear sign when I exited customs, which took an immensely long time, yet she was still patiently waiting there! The flight was delayed and customs took probably over an hour, so I was thankful that Margaret was willing to wait so long and late at night for me. The taxi van that took me to the first hotel was very nice, too. I had 2 guides and 2 vehicles - one for Kenya and one for Tanzania. Julius Pilipili was my first guide and I would give him 5 stars! He was very friendly, upbeat, and excellent overall. He had an interest in photography, so he was able to understand angles and light very well and set me up with great positions for shots without me needing to even ask. I don't know if I even asked once for him to move where we stopped the vehicle… He just automatically knew where to stop. He really has a talent for guiding. We saw a ton of animals (big 5 included)! I definitely don't think you'll be disappointed having him guide you. Both guides were knowledgeable about the wildlife giving interesting fun facts and always had answers if I asked. If you are serious about photography, I would highly recommend trying to get Julius to guide the whole trip because that's what I would want next time! I was really impressed with him and liked his energy. The hotels were all very nice and enjoyable. Beautiful rooms with many having good views. I even got upgraded because of a misunderstanding, and I really appreciated that Camptrek Safaris listened to my concern and responded in a way that let me know that they cared about my experience and wanted to make it up to me. It would make me feel comfortable to book again with them in the future knowing that if any other issues were to arise, they would be willing to listen and help. Overall, the whole experience with them was great! I was a little nervous beforehand booking with Camptrek Safaris since they don't have quite as many reviews as some of the other companies I came across, but I was looking to support a smaller business employing locals and they also offered some of the best pricing I inquired about, while also being more responsive than some others. I can assure you after my experience though, they are legit and I think anyone would really enjoy their trip with them!Posted on zsazsa kasongoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience through the beautifully crafted itineraryPosted on Candelaria SmartTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Awesome experience! Planning was quick and efficient thanks to Lucy. I asked her way too many questions and she was always kind. Communication was great and easy via email or whatsapp before and during the trip. Our guide/driver Shabani was incredible every step of the way. He was punctual, patient and knowledgeable. The car was very comfortable and clean. Everything turned out better than we expected!Posted on Nadia SebtaouiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing 2-Day Solo Safari – Highly Recommend! I did a 2-day private solo safari from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru & Lake Naivasha, and it was incredible. The price was very fair, and the team was extremely responsive, even with my last-minute booking. I was in Nairobi for a conference with only a few days free, and this tour was perfectly adapted to a short stay and tight timing. Everything felt personalized, well-organized, and stress-free. My driver-guide was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, sharing great insights and always adapting to what I wanted. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and very well taken care of. The night at Egret Savannah Camp was peaceful and comfortable. Wildlife, landscapes, overall experience — everything was perfect. If you’re looking for a flexible, reliable, well-priced safari, especially for a short or last-minute trip, I 100% recommend this one!Posted on Randall DietzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was very well organised and our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and had great communication skills. The accommodation and food was excellent. We had such a wonderful experience with awesome memories. We highly recommend this tour.Posted on Linnebjerg GamerzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing 14-day private safari with Camptrek Ltd. through Kenya and Tanzania! Everything worked perfectly — smooth booking, quick communication, and great flexibility. Our guides Ben, Richard, and Sam were knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent wildlife spotters. All lodges and camps had beautiful locations and high comfort. A truly unforgettable experience — highly recommended!Posted on Indi and Jack GarthTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the best time on safari with Ben! He was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who not only showed us so many amazing animals, but also taught us about them and the places we visited! Couldn’t recommend the team at Camptrek highly enough! We’d love to visit again.Posted on 阿百Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our driver Ben gave us the most amazing holiday! While we were waiting for the wildebeest to cross the river during the Great Migration, he didn’t just have us sit and wait around — instead, he took us to explore nearby areas, like the border and rivers where we could see hippos and crocodiles. It made the whole experience so much more fun and exciting! Ben also shared so much knowledge about the animals — how to tell different types of gazelles apart, and the habits of leopards, cheetahs, and lions. He’s absolutely incredible at spotting wildlife. Many times, he’d point something out, and it would take us a while before we could even see what he was looking at! Every time we made a wish, Ben did everything he could to make it happen — taking us to see big cats hunting, or finding all sorts of adorable baby animals. We can’t recommend Ben enough! We’re already dreaming about coming back soon for another safari adventure with him. Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
