Your Itinerary
Your safari starts here, You will be picked up by our company Driver guide from the airport or your accommodation facility in Nairobi at 7:00 a.m., for a scenic drive North through the fertile highlands of Kenya where a vibrant agricultural economy of tea and coffee is the source of livelihood. You will pass through the equator and arrive at Samburu National Reserve in good time for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on your first game drive in this park to experience this wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Gravy zebras, Somali ostrich, Reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, and the beautiful oryx. You will also experience the cultural heritage of the Samburu people (the butterfly people) this afternoon and retreat to the camp at sunset.
You will depart for an early morning game drive while the animals are still active in this reserve whose breathtaking panorama, flora, and fauna are unique and endemic to Kenya’s Northern hemisphere. Then, you will return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast and lunch.
You will spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in camp reading your favorite book, writing your journal about the safari, or just listening to your favorite music while observing the birds – don't stress, the animals will be doing the same . You will head off again in the afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for another drive through the park. You will return to the lodge for dinner and another night under the Samburu stars.
After a leisurely breakfast, You will drive south of Samburu to Olpejeta Conservancy and arrive at Serena Sweet Waters Camp in good time for lunch. After lunch, get to familiarize yourself with the camp which has a waterhole adjacent to the bar area where animals go to drink water.
Embark on an afternoon game drive starting with the chimpanzee sanctuary and later to this gorgeous park that is known to have the most significant concentration of white and black rhinos. Other animals around here are giraffes, gazelles, elephants, lions cheetahs, and many others. Ol Pejeta is also known to be the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.
Today after breakfast, drive southwards for another scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park through the fertile highlands of Kenya where a vibrant agricultural economy of tea and coffee is the source of livelihood.
Pass through the equator again to the highlands of Nyahururu arriving at Lake Nakuru in good time for lunch. You check in to your lodge and later depart for an afternoon game drive in the park Return back at sunset for an overnight stay
Lake Nakuru is among Kenya's finest national parks. The park is gorgeous all year round and boasts rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, and a waterfall. It is home to flamingos, both black and white rhinos; lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. The southern end of the lake is the best place to see wildlife. The forested area below the Rhinos Cliff is a favourite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees, and leopards frequent the same area.
After breakfast, You will drive through the Rift Valley floor to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving at the camp in good time for lunch. After lunch, Embark on your first game drive in this rich wildlife sanctuary also known as the 'eighth wonder of the animal world' in search of the big five namely the Lions, Leopards, Elephants, and rhinos. Return to the camp at sunset for dinner and overnight
One of our favourite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. And bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees.
This is a full day spent game viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills of the famous "Eighth Wonder of the Animal World". The Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game animals like leopards, Cheetahs & Lions. It also has numerous Elephants and virtually every other type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. You will have a full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Your lunch today is picnic lunch boxes in the savannah under a flat-top acacia tree while watching the animals grazing. Continue with the game viewing on-route to your camp, arriving at your late in the afternoon after thoroughly exploring this massive grassland savannah measuring 1,500sq km.
You have an option of booking a balloon ride today which takes off early in the morning. After landing, the crew helps you out of the basket and escorts you to a lovely setting for a bush breakfast. It is a lifetime experience and worth the price.
We think you'll love exploring Lake Naivasha, the highest (and one of the loveliest) of Kenya's Rift Valley lakes. Today after breakfast, you will drive north through Narok to Njoro road which crosses the beautiful sceneries of the fertile wheat lands of Mau and the Mau forest complex. You will arrive at the lodge in good time for lunch.
On arrival after Lunch, you will proceed to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and walking excursion at the Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. Boat rides on Lake Naivasha are refreshing experiences that take you on the breezy lake waters as you explore the diverse bird life and wildlife on the lake and its surroundings. You will have a brief nature walk on the island, which is a great opportunity to appreciate nature at the island and around the island. You will return to the lodge for dinner and over night.
Today after an early breakfast, you will depart from Lake Naivasha through the Great Rift Valley viewpoint traversing through Nairobi city to the main highway to Mombasa and stopping at Emali town for a quick health stop. You will proceed to Amboseli arriving in good time for lunch.
You will embark on your first afternoon game drive exploring the acacia woodland, freshwater swamps, scrub brush, and open plains in search of wildlife. Amboseli National Park (392 sq km) is famously known for the breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain on earth and the tallest in Africa (5,895m). Amboseli is also an elephant’s paradise where the massive African savannah elephants roam from swamp to swamp, grazing all day. Because of the abundance of water and pasture, the bull elephants here weigh up to 6 tons. Other animals to be spotted here are cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests (gnus), gazelles, hippos, and many others.
You will leave the camp after breakfast, carrying your packed lunch to be enjoyed in the wild. You will spend the whole day exploring the marshlands and swamps of Amboseli which are fed by subterranean water channels. Water is abundant throughout the year and so is the pasture. Elephants and various other herbivores are found here. You will retreat to the lodge late in the afternoon after a long exploration of this 392 sq km park
You also have an option of starting the day with an early morning game drive to search for animals when they're at their most active. Then, return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast and lunch.
You'll spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in camp reading your favorite book writing your journal about the safari or just listening to your favorite music while observing the birds. Then, you'll head off again in the afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for another drive through the park. You'll return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today after a leisurely breakfast, you will be transferred back to Nairobi and proceed to the Carnivore Restaurant for (optional) lunch/dinner. Later, be dropped off at your hotel in Nairobi or at the airport to mark the end of your safari.
Note- If you have a late departure, we can arrange for a visit to the Giraffe Center, home to a towering crew of the endangered Rothschild giraffes. Alternatively visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, a rescue and rehab centre for orphaned baby elephants, open to the public for one hour between 11-12 a.m. for viewing mud baths and feeding.
Note- We can also arrange a flight/train from Nairobi to the coastal beaches of Kenya Diani or Mombasa if you wish to extend your trip to Kenya's white sand beaches when booking this trip.
