4 Days Flamingos And Wildlife Experience
This is a short safari designed for travellers eager to explore the best and finest of Kenya's national parks in a few days in search of the Big Five. This safari package takes you to two of the main wildlife destinations in Kenya—Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. Depending on the time of the year, you may or may not witness the wildebeest migration on this package. If you’re keen on the wildebeest migration, check out “The Migration Experience” package.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
You will be picked up by our company representative from the airport or your accommodation facility in Nairobi for a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will have a stopover at the spectacular Great Rift Valley viewpoint to stretch your legs and photograph the contrasting landscapes including Mount Longonot. You will arrive at the park in time for lunch, check into your lodge and thereafter, depart for an afternoon game drive in the park. Return to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Lake Nakuru is among Kenya's finest national parks. The Park is gorgeous all year round and boasts rocky escarpments, patches of yellow-barked acacia forest, and a waterfall. It is home to flamingos, both black and white rhinos; lions, leopards, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. The forested area below Lake Nakuru Lodge is a favourite lion-spotting point where lionesses love to sleep in the trees, and leopards frequent the same area.

Day 2 : Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara National Reserve
Today after breakfast, you will drive through the Rift Valley floor to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving at the lodge in good time for lunch. Embark on your first game drive in the reserve this afternoon in search of the Big Five and other herbivores that roam around in this beautiful savanna. Return to your lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.
One of our favourite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. Bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees.

Day 3 : Masai Mara National Reserve
This is a full day spent game viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills of the famous "Eighth Wonder of the World". The Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game animals like leopards, cheetahs, and lions. It also has numerous elephants and virtually every other type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. You will have a full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Your lunch today is picnic lunch boxes in the savannah under a flat-top acacia tree while watching the animals grazing. Continue with the game viewing on-route to your camp, arriving at your lodge late in the afternoon after thoroughly exploring this massive grassland savannah measuring 1,500sq km.
You have an option of booking a balloon ride today which takes off early in the morning. After landing, the crew helps you out of the basket and escorts you to a lovely setting for a bush breakfast. It is a lifetime experience and worth the price.

Day 4 : Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi
After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Loita Hills Tepesua village (approximately 40 minutes from Masai Mara en route to Nairobi). It is home to the Maasai PP, known for championing Maasai women’s health and girl child education. Arrive and be welcomed by traditional Maasai warrior songs and dances. Then your host will explain the details of Maasai warrior training.
Take a walk to the community village which was founded to alleviate the poverty of Maasai widows, who traditionally are not allowed to inherit property. The village offers support, safety, and economic growth through the Tepesua Widows Income Project. Proceed to Nairobi with an optional celebratory lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Later, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Nairobi or at the airport to mark the end of your safari.
Note: We can arrange for a walking and boat ride safari excursion at Lake Naivasha Crescent Island Sanctuary if you have a late-night flight (A little detour to Nairobi).
